Leyton Orient has recently renewed the contract of defender Tom James for another two years. Since joining the club in 2021 from Hibernian, the 28-year-old Welshman has made an impressive 120 appearances for the O’s and scored nine goals. Notably, he played a crucial role in their victorious League Two title-winning season in 2022-23, making 41 appearances.

Looking back at the previous season, where Orient finished 11th in League Two, James expressed optimism about the future. He highlighted that the team had shown their ability to compete with larger clubs in the league and achieved some impressive results. Moving forward, he believes there is no reason why they cannot continue to perform well and approach the upcoming season with confidence.

Before joining Leyton Orient, James started his career at Cardiff City before moving to Yeovil Town in 2017 and then Hibernian in 2019. He also had loan spells at Wigan Athletic and Salford City before settling at Orient.

The anticipation for the upcoming season is high as fans eagerly await the release of the League One fixtures for 2024-25 on Wednesday. With Tom James committed to the club, Leyton Orient’s supporters can look forward to more memorable performances from their star defender in the coming years.
