In the heart of Seoul, South Korea, a tragic accident occurred near a subway station next to City Hall. A vehicle ran over a group of people at an intersection, resulting in nine deaths. Six victims died on the spot while three others succumbed to their injuries after being taken to the hospital. Four additional individuals were injured, with one in serious condition and the others having minor injuries. They are currently undergoing medical treatment at a nearby hospital in the Jung Gu district.

Eyewitnesses reported that a car leaving a hotel in the area veered in the opposite direction before colliding with two other vehicles and then plowing through a crosswalk, hitting multiple pedestrians. The driver of the vehicle, a 68-year-old man, was arrested along with his 60-year-old female companion. Authorities have ruled out alcohol as a factor and are investigating the causes of the accident.

The tragedy unfolded around 9:30 p.m. local time on a Monday, prompting a swift response from emergency services. Nearly 40 vehicles and 140 workers were dispatched to the scene to assist the victims and clear the area of the accident. The aftermath of the incident has left the community in shock and mourning for the lives lost and those injured.
