Darius Slay, cornerback for the Eagles, has expressed his belief that Amari Cooper, wide receiver for the Browns, deserves a lucrative contract this year. Slay believes that Cooper is not receiving the recognition or compensation that he is worth and considers him to be the most underappreciated receiver in the league.

In an episode of the Green Light with Chris Long podcast, Slay commended Cooper for his consistency regardless of the team he plays for or the quarterback throwing to him. He specifically noted Cooper’s impressive performance with Joe Flacco last season. Slay also expressed frustration that Cleveland seems reluctant to offer Cooper a contract that reflects his value to the team.

Browns General Manager Andrew Berry and coach Kevin Stefanski both acknowledge the value that Cooper brings to the team, but a mutually beneficial contract agreement has yet to be reached. Slay’s endorsement of Cooper’s skills and contributions underscores how important it is to compensate him appropriately for his performance on the field.
