Danville Science Center debuts new exhibit aimed to get guests to unplug and discover

Beginning this weekend, the Danville Science Center desires guests pull the plug from the normally-at-hand electronic devices and connect with science rather.

The center will open the Science Unplugged exhibit on Saturday, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Danville Foundation.

The concept is to let guests of all ages to get a really feel for the low-tech strategies to discover science, particularly principles behind physics and architecture, according to a news release.

In Science Unplugged, a new exhibit opening Saturday at the Danville Science Center, guests can create a bridge, reconstruct planet-popular arches, make a gravity-defying cantilever, experiment with tops, discover wheels, “throw” bursts of air and get a mechanical benefit applying pulleys, gears and a lot more.

Each exhibits will be on show Saturday by way of Sept. three. The museum is open from 9:30 a.m. to five p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and from 11:30 a.m. to five p.m. Sunday.

The exhibitions are integrated with Danville Science Center admission, according to the release. Members, active military and youngsters three and below are admitted cost-free.

The Danville Science Center also gives discounts for EBT cardholders.
