In New Paltz, N.Y., the Ride for Mental Health fundraiser is set to return this year on June 22 and 23. The event aims to raise funds for mental health services, treatment, and education. More than 500 cyclists are expected to participate in this year’s event, with a choice of 25, 50, and 100-mile courses available.

For those who cannot join the in-person rides, there will be a “family fun ride” for all ages that runs for just 14 miles. Virtual riders can also participate remotely and help raise funds online. In-person riders will have the chance to ride fully supported road courses that wind through the countryside.

The Ride for Mental Health fundraiser has been running since 2017 and has raised over $1.2 million for its cause despite COVID-related cancellations during the pandemic. Last year alone, the event had over 470 cyclists, 150 volunteers, and 1,600 donors who helped raise over $215,000 for McLean Hospital, a renowned psychiatric treatment facility.
