Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta is reportedly considering a potential move to Napoli during the upcoming summer transfer window. Mateta had an impressive season at Crystal Palace, scoring 14 goals in his last 16 Premier League matches under new manager Oliver Glasner. This success has attracted interest from clubs across Europe, with Napoli being one of them.

According to reports from Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Mateta is open to the idea of joining Napoli and working under former Tottenham manager Antonio Conte. Although Napoli is actively pursuing a loan deal for Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea, Mateta could be considered as an alternative option if a deal for Lukaku does not materialize.

Despite Crystal Palace reportedly making a promise to Mateta to allow him to leave the club, Napoli would only pursue a move for the striker once they secure the sale of Victor Osimhen this summer. Napoli is looking to reinforce their attacking options and see Mateta as a viable target to bolster their squad for the upcoming season.

Mateta’s impressive performance at Crystal Palace has caught the attention of many clubs across Europe, including Napoli. With Antonio Conte at the helm, Napoli could provide him with an opportunity to continue his growth as a player and compete at the highest level. Whether or not he decides to make the move remains to be seen, but it’s clear that he has many options available to him this summer.
