Marc Guehi, a player for Crystal Palace, has denied claims that he has been England’s best player at Euro 2024. Instead, he believes that his success is due to the collective effort of the entire team in defending well. Guehi has been part of a back four that has the lowest expected goals against in the tournament. He emphasizes that it is the pressure from the front that has also contributed to their success.

Despite missing part of the 2023-24 season due to a knee injury, Guehi got his chance to play for England after Harry Maguire was ruled out. He expresses his enjoyment for being at the tournament and is continuously working on developing his skills to become a better player. He is joined by his Crystal Palace teammates Eberechi Eze and Adam Wharton in Germany.

Guehi’s comments come as full-back Tyrick Mitchell continues to garner attention from fans and pundits alike, especially given the limited options at left-back. Guehi praises Mitchell’s consistency and performance throughout the season, expressing his desire for his teammate to be part of the national team. He believes that with continued hard work and performance, Mitchell will get his chance to represent England in the future.
