A small fire broke out on the world’s largest cruise ship, Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas, while it was docked in Costa Maya, Mexico. The fire was quickly extinguished and isolated to a crew area, resulting in no injuries.

Despite the fire, the ship briefly lost power. However, backup power was activated immediately, and the main power systems were restored promptly. Thankfully, the ship’s itinerary was not affected by the fire or power outage.

The Port of Miami-based Icon of the Seas set sail on a week-long Western Caribbean cruise on Saturday, as reported by CruiseMapper. It is scheduled to return to Miami on June 29 after a successful journey.

The Icon of the Seas, which first set sail in January, has the capacity to accommodate up to 7,600 guests and 2,350 crew members. As of now, News Channel 8 has reached out to Royal Caribbean to gather more information about the fire incident.
