On Sunday morning, First Coast CrossFit owner Daniel Mattsson-Boze was surprised to find that his gym on Edgewood Avenue in Murray Hill had been damaged by a truck crash. The incident occurred just before 3:00 a.m., causing significant damage to the building.

Despite the lack of footage from his security cameras, Mattsson-Boze is grateful that the main workout space in the gym remained unaffected, allowing the business to continue operating for now. He acknowledged that there will be insurance claims and repairs to deal with but remains optimistic about the situation.

Mattsson-Boze expressed concern about the frequency of accidents near the Edgewood Avenue intersection where his gym is located. He hopes that city officials will take action to improve safety measures in the area to prevent similar incidents in the future.

According to Jacksonville Fire and Rescue, one person involved in the crash was hospitalized in serious condition, while another suffered minor injuries. Mattsson-Boze emphasized the need for changes to prevent such accidents and is hopeful that this incident will prompt city officials to address the issue.

As Mattsson-Boze continues to navigate through this unexpected challenge, he remains committed to keeping his members safe and providing them with a top-notch fitness experience.
