CaixaBank’s operational headquarters in Barcelona hosted a discussion led by Isidro Fainé, emphasizing the company’s 120-year history and growth from a humble beginning with a share capital of 526 euros. The milestone marked the journey of the entity, guided by the compass needle of social work and strategic investments.

The meeting included executives from investees, such as Gonzalo Gortazar, CEO of CaixaBank, and Francisco Reynes, president of Naturgy. The discussion highlighted the aggressive strategic plan for 2025-2030, designed to double investments and drive growth beyond traditional assets. Despite challenges with Naturgy’s shareholder instability and conflicts with companies like Veolia, Criteria is moving forward with its strategic plan.

Fainé’s parting words, “Focus de future, you will be there the rest of your life,” set the tone for Criteria’s future direction. The plan includes partnerships with companies like ACS and Puig, emphasizing liquidity, geographical diversification, and a shift towards global business. The new CEO’s vision is to drive growth and influence across various sectors, linking back to the core values of social work and strategic investments that have defined Criteria’s success over the years.

The meeting showcased the company’s commitment to innovation, growth, and a future-focused approach to navigating changing markets and opportunities.
