Cristiano Ronaldo has made history by breaking the record for the most goals in a single Saudi Pro League season. In Al Nassr’s final game of the campaign, Ronaldo scored his 34th and 35th goals, surpassing the previous record held by Abderrazak Hamdallah.

Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in December 2022 and has been part of an increasing number of overseas players attracted to the Saudi league due to lucrative contracts. The Portuguese forward scored his goals in the first half and in the 69th minute with a header as Al Nassr defeated Al Ittihad 4-2 at home. Despite the victory, Al Nassr finished in second place, 14 points behind champions Al Hilal.

The 39-year-old, who formerly played for Real Madrid and Manchester United, has been selected to represent Portugal in the upcoming Euros in Germany, marking his 11th international tournament. With 206 appearances, Ronaldo holds the record for the most capped player in men’s international football and has scored an impressive 128 goals for his country.
