Recently, the Alabama Crimson Tide received good news on the recruiting front. Mal Waldrep, a three-star interior offensive lineman from the class of 2025, announced his commitment to Alabama. This commitment comes just two days after another offensive lineman, four-star Michael Carroll, also pledged to play for the Crimson Tide.

Following an official visit to Tuscaloosa over the weekend, Waldrep made his decision to commit to Alabama over other programs such as Auburn, Clemson and Tennessee. It’s likely that he will play the guard position at the college level, as that is where the Alabama coaching staff has recruited him. Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 320 pounds, Waldrep currently plays for Central-Phenix City High School in Alabama.

With both Tyler Booker and Jaeden Roberts potentially leaving for the 2025 NFL draft, Waldrep will have an opportunity to compete for early playing time. His commitment strengthens Alabama’s offensive line haul for the 2025 recruiting class. Roll Tide Wire will continue to provide updates on the Alabama football program and its recruiting efforts.
