With a high level of security in place, law enforcement officials are diligently monitoring the event. In addition to those at the stadium, fans have gathered at Seaford for a free watch party at Cedar Creek Park. Security checkpoints were set up throughout the park by Nassau police to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. It took nearly two hours to get all the fans inside the stadium, with patrols on the ground and in the air to ensure safety. Homeland Security and the NYPD are also present to support the Nassau police in maintaining security.
Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder mentioned that this is the largest security event they have ever handled. The stadium at Eisenhower Park is filled with about 34,000 fans, some of whom have paid thousands of dollars for tickets. With such a large crowd, it’s clear that this match is highly anticipated by cricket fans around the world.
