CPM, a leading solutions provider of process equipment and engineered technologies, has recently acquired Innovative Pelleting Solutions GmbH and its high-capacity, direct drive pellet mill technology invented by Graf Equipment GmbH. This new technology enhances CPM’s biomass portfolio by offering a high-capacity pellet mill with the ability to process various biomass feedstocks.

The acquisition reflects CPM’s dedication to providing its customers with more energy-efficient and higher-capacity biomass machines. The Direct Drive technology offers several benefits, such as reducing the need for additional mechanical components, resulting in a smaller footprint of the machine and simplified maintenance procedures.

Moreover, the direct drive system delivers higher torque, which leads to denser pellets. The technology is also more sustainable as it minimizes the use of grease due to its low vibration and low die speed, ultimately extending the lifespan of the machine parts. With three types of pellet mill solutions available, CPM’s biomass equipment portfolio provides customers with flexibility to optimize their processing operations.

CPM’s general manager of Industrial Solutions, Maarten Visser, stated that this direct drive pellet mill is a unique offering in the biomass industry today: “We are continuously expanding our biomass technology portfolio to meet the needs of the global biomass market. This direct drive pellet mill is a unique offering in the industry that delivers higher capacity, lower energy consumption, and a compact design that our customers have been requesting.”
