On Wednesday, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy stated that Micah Parsons had not missed anything during his absence from voluntary workouts this spring. However, McCarthy’s stance on the matter changed on Thursday. Despite attending the team’s media day, Parsons has not yet participated in any practice sessions.

During a press conference, McCarthy expressed concern that Parsons’ offseason approach could negatively impact his performance. He acknowledged that there is work to be done in learning a new defense and emphasized the importance of being together as a team. McCarthy also highlighted the missed opportunities for improvement in mental, physical, and emotional aspects by not participating in team activities.

Although training camp is the main focus, McCarthy admitted that valuable opportunities have been missed due to Parsons’ absence from voluntary workouts. It remains to be seen whether Parsons will be able to catch up on lost time and make an impact during training camp. Based on his previous seasons, however, chances are high that he will continue to be an impactful player moving forward.
