The 91-year-old singer was advised by his doctors to rest for four days due to feeling unwell. In Nelson’s absence, Lukas Nelson and the Family Band took center stage along with some special guests. They performed a set that included some of Willie’s classic songs. The Outlaw Music Festival will continue with stops in Charlotte and Raleigh following the Alpharetta show. However, it has been confirmed that Nelson will not be part of those performances. There is speculation about whether he will return for the Virginia Beach show on June 26, but nothing has been confirmed at this time.
