Last week, Congressman Steve Cohen from Tennessee’s 9th District announced a grant of over $1 million to Le Bonheur Community Health and Well-Being through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service’s Delta States Rural Development Network Grant Program. This grant is aimed at providing health services in rural areas and strengthening the much-needed rural health care system in the region.

In addition to this, Congressman Cohen also announced a smaller planning grant to the same organization to help develop a rural health care network. This grant will support the development of an integrated and collaborative network that aims to achieve efficiencies, expand access to healthcare, improve the quality of care, and strengthen the rural health care system as a whole.

Congressman Cohen emphasized the importance of creating such a network and expressed his pleasure in seeing Le Bonheur Community Health and Well-Being taking steps towards this goal. He stated that “rural communities often face unique challenges when it comes to accessing quality healthcare services, and this grant will help us address those challenges head on.”
