On June 21, Cone Health, the medical service partner of Elon University, signed an agreement to join Risant Health, a nonprofit organization founded by Kaiser Foundation Hospitals. As a result of this partnership, Cone Health will become part of Risant Health while retaining its brand, name, mission, and leadership structure. Dr. Mary Jo Cagle, CEO and President of Cone Health, has assured customers that they can expect the same level of care and service from the same healthcare providers and staff in the same locations as before.

Risant Health previously welcomed Geisinger as the first health system to join, and Greg Adams, chair of the Risant Health board of directors, emphasized the organization’s commitment to increasing access to value-based care and coverage. Adams stated that Risant Health believes in a future of healthcare that is focused on evidence, equity, population health, and improved outcomes, and sees models like Kaiser Permanente, Cone Health, and Geisinger as instrumental in achieving this vision.
