Newly-promoted Como is reportedly close to signing former Roma goalkeeper Pau Lopez. The 29-year-old shot-stopper played for Roma from 2019 to 2021 before moving to Olympique Marseille on loan and then permanently for €12m.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Pau Lopez is set to return to Italy this summer. Como, who secured promotion by finishing second in the Serie B table, are looking to attract top players under the leadership of coach Cesc Fabregas.

The deal for Pau Lopez is expected to be a loan move with an option to buy at the end of the season. The overall cost of the transfer is estimated to be around €5-6m. Como had also been linked with goalkeeper Emil Audero, who is currently owned by Sampdoria and spent the previous season on loan at Inter.

Pau Lopez has previously played for clubs such as Espanyol, Real Betis, and Tottenham Hotspur. Additionally, Como recently hosted Raphael Varane for a few days, and the French defender is considering their offer as well.
