Live Healthy Spartanburg has recently released a survey to gather information on the health needs of Spartanburg County residents. The 7-10 minute survey, managed by Jalisa Jordan, program manager at Live Healthy Spartanburg, aims to guide officials in making informed decisions on how to improve the health of the community. Jordan emphasized the importance of hearing from residents to understand their unique needs and concerns within the community.

The survey asks residents about various aspects of their health and wellness, including access to healthy foods and safe spaces for physical activity. Respondents are asked about the types of foods available at grocery stores near them, as well as the affordability of healthy options like fruits and vegetables on a weekly basis. They are also asked about their level of physical activity and whether they have access to areas in their community that promote an active lifestyle.

Live Healthy Spartanburg has over 70 partners, one of which is Access Health Spartanburg. Program director Staci Roberts from Access Health Spartanburg mentioned that survey results will help programs like theirs tailor their efforts based on the specific needs of the community. Their programs focus on addressing chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol, using data to create effective interventions that can positively impact outcomes.
