In 2002, Linda Logan took the helm of the Greater Columbus Sports Commission and has been instrumental in elevating the city’s reputation as a sports hub ever since. Her commitment to promoting women’s sports has been a key factor in Columbus’ success in hosting major sporting events. In recognition of its efforts, the city was named the 10th best event-hosting city in the country by Sports Business Journal.
Growing up in Northeast Ohio, Logan had always loved sports but lacked opportunities to participate herself. Instead, she pursued a career in sports administration at Ohio University and later worked with a women’s professional basketball team. As an advocate for gender equality in athletics, Logan has been at the forefront of this movement, successfully hosting events like the NCCA Women’s Final Four and the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championship. With the recent addition of the Columbus Fury, a women’s professional volleyball team, Logan plans to continue expanding opportunities for female professional teams in Columbus.
