Velez, who graduated from FAU in December with a master’s degree in civil engineering and is now a style engineer for Structures International, participated in the project through the 2019-20 year. Due to COVID, the group was unable to travel – but Velez was capable to oversee the bridge efforts from South Florida. Quick forward to this year, when she lastly created the trip overseas to aid construct the bridge her group initially developed.
