An investigation by NJ Advance Media has uncovered evidence of financial improprieties at College Achieve Public Schools in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The school’s husband-and-wife leadership team is accused of using a family-owned business to produce school apparel at taxpayer expense, violating New Jersey school ethics laws.

Sources familiar with the school’s operations claim that officials used a closed store as an intermediary to conceal the work being done by the family-owned business. Invoices obtained by NJ Advance Media show that purchases totaling $143,274 were made between December 2021 and January 2024 in this manner, raising concerns about the school’s financial practices.
