In Ridgeland, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) has given Cock of the Walk a “C” rating after a recent health inspection. The establishment closed voluntarily on Tuesday, June 18, following the inspection which found some rodent droppings in dry storage areas, employees standing in waste water in the kitchen, and food containers without lids. Additionally, food contact surfaces throughout the facility were found to not be cleaned or sanitized. This is not the first time that Cock of the Walk has had health violations; in January 2012, there was an infestation due to cockroaches.

Greg Flynn, spokesman for MSDH, stated that the owner has 10 days to correct the health violations found in Cock of the Walk.
