The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced the appointment of Martin Mendoza as the permanent director of the Office of Minority Health. In his new role, Mendoza will be responsible for driving efforts to integrate and advance health equity across the development, evaluation, and implementation of CMS policies and programs.

Prior to his appointment at CMS, Mendoza served as director of health equity for the “All of Us” research program at the National Institutes of Health. In this position, he played a critical role in promoting inclusion and equity in precision medicine initiatives. With his extensive background in diversity and fairness in healthcare settings, Mendoza is well-positioned to drive meaningful change and innovation in addressing disparities in healthcare access and outcomes for minority communities.
