The Cleveland Guardians secured their fourth win in five games on Friday night with a 3-1 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. Will Brennan hit a solo home run and Logan Allen pitched five innings for his first career win over Toronto. With both players contributing two hits each, the Guardians improved to 31-7 when scoring first.

The young left-hander, Allen, allowed only one run and three hits during his five innings of work. He walked three and struck out three. Meanwhile, Toronto has lost two straight and three of their last four games, sitting at 8-29 when scoring three or fewer runs. On the other hand, Cleveland has won 11 of its last 16 road games and now have a record of 23-15 away from home.

Blue Jays right-hander Kevin Gausman took the loss, allowing three runs and eight hits in five innings. Early in the game, Reynolds hit back-to-back doubles off Gausman while Schneemann drove in a run later on with a single hit.
