In a recent discussion with ESPN’s McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning, Paul Finebaum expressed his belief that Florida State has become a more attractive option in the ACC compared to Clemson. Finebaum, known for his strong opinions about college football, criticized Clemson, making him somewhat of a Clemson hater.

Finebaum commented that Clemson has lost some of its luster over the past few years. He pointed out that Clemson used to be at the center of college football discussions, playing in the national championship game multiple times. However, Finebaum believes that Clemson has fallen behind other ACC teams like Florida State, Miami, and North Carolina in terms of attractiveness to potential recruits and fans.

Despite Finebaum’s criticisms, there is still an opportunity for Clemson to prove him wrong and regain its status as a dominant force in college football. As they have done numerous times before, the Tigers have a chance to silence their critics and show that they are still a top program in the ACC.

Finebaum also mentioned that if Miami can get things right under new head coach Mario Cristobal, they could also surpass Clemson in attractiveness. He noted that North Carolina is currently more attractive than Clemson and even Florida State could be considered more appealing depending on recent performance.

Overall, Finebaum believes that Clemson is losing its status as a top-tier football program in the ACC. However, if they can perform well during the 2024 season, they may be able to prove him wrong and regain their place among the best teams in the league.
