On Tuesday, discolored water flowed down Clear Creek and the county launched an investigation to determine the cause. The source of the unusual orange color of the creek was found to be a “blocked sediment pond”.

Fortunately, environmental health officials from Clear Creek County discovered that the blockage had been released into the stream and caused the water to turn orange. They confirmed that this was not a public health issue and reassured the public that the orange color would dissipate shortly.

Thanks to Clear Creek County’s efficient management of the situation, it was expected that the discolored water flowing down the creek would soon return to its natural state. The prompt response and investigation by the county helped address the issue and ensure the safety of both the community and environment.
