The city of Charleston has collaborated with Community Solutions Consultant LLC to enhance the Palmetto Artisan Program for youth in the community. This program is designed to nurture the creativity of Charleston’s young individuals while imparting valuable business skills that will benefit them in the future. By partnering with the consulting firm, the city aims to expand the program beyond just creating Palmetto Roses and provide a year-round opportunity for youths aged 9 to 16 to run their own businesses with the help of mentorship.

Youth entrepreneurs have the chance to showcase their products every weekend on Concord and Calhoun Streets, as well as at the Charleston City Market. Organizers welcome new participants and encourage rose peddlers to join the year-round program to continue honing their craft and business skills. Interested youth can apply to join the program by filling out an online form.
