During a speech at the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum on Thursday, President Xi Jinping of China emphasized the importance of building strong relationships with Arab countries as a means of promoting global peace and stability. He expressed China’s readiness to collaborate with Arab nations to address conflict areas in a way that supports fairness, justice, and long-term peace.

Xi’s remarks touched upon the ongoing crisis in Gaza, highlighting the need for an end to war and a commitment to the “two-state solution” for lasting peace. He addressed the leaders of Bahrain, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, and other Arab League nations, underscoring China’s support for a ceasefire and Palestinian membership in the United Nations.

China has consistently advocated for a two-state resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and has pledged support for humanitarian aid and post-war reconstruction efforts in Gaza. Xi announced that China will host the second China-Arab States Summit in 2026, signaling a continued commitment to strengthening ties with Arab nations.

In addition to these initiatives, Xi outlined areas for future cooperation between China and Arab countries, including expanding investment and financial partnerships and deepening energy collaboration. By working together on multiple fronts, China and the Arab states aim to build a more stable and prosperous future for their regions and the world.
