Kansas City Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice is currently cooperating with police in connection with a major accident involving multiple vehicles that took place in Dallas on Saturday. His lawyer, Royce West, stated that Rice’s thoughts are with everyone affected by the incident and that he is working with local authorities to address the situation responsibly.

The accident involved a vehicle that was believed to be leased or registered to Rice and occurred in northeast Dallas around 6:20 p.m. According to reports from the Dallas Morning News, the crash happened while a Corvette and Lamborghini were racing on the street, causing both drivers to lose control of their vehicles. The Lamborghini then collided with the center median wall, leading to an accident involving four other vehicles.

Rice, who is 23 years old and originally from Dallas, played college football at SMU before being drafted by the Chiefs. He had a successful rookie season, recording 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns. However, after the crash, his future with the team remains uncertain as he is suspected of being connected to the accident and has not yet provided any information regarding it.

Chiefs president Mark Donovan mentioned in an interview with KCMO Talk Radio that they are currently gathering information regarding the incident and will make a decision based on the facts presented. Donovan expressed gratitude that nobody was injured in the crash and assured that they will address the situation accordingly. However, given Rice’s past legal troubles and his potential involvement in this accident, it is likely that he may face disciplinary action or even suspension from the team if found guilty of any wrongdoing.

West stated that he will continue to represent Rice throughout this investigation and ensure that his rights are protected under law.

“I am committed to providing my client with all legal resources necessary for him to navigate through this process,” West said in a statement.

As Rice waits for further developments in this investigation, he continues to train for next season with hopes of improving his performance on field once again for Kansas City Chiefs teammates
