Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman BJ Thompson has been released from the hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest during a team meeting. The 25-year-old player was given CPR by the Chiefs’ staff before being transported to the hospital on Thursday.

Thompson’s agent, Chris Turnage, expressed gratitude for the support and care provided by the Chiefs’ medical and training staff during the emergency. Following the incident, the team decided to cancel a scheduled practice session and postponed media sessions until Friday.

Thompson was chosen in the fifth round of the NFL Draft last year and appeared in one game for the Super Bowl champions in the previous season. He was also part of the Chiefs team that recently visited the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl victory.

The Chiefs are currently engaged in their off-season training activities, with a mandatory mini-camp set to commence on Tuesday.
