Cheltenham Town has welcomed two new players to their squad, Owen Evans and Joe Day, as they prepare for the upcoming season in League Two.

Evans, 27, is returning to the club after being released by Walsall, where he spent two seasons. During his time at Walsall, Evans made 45 appearances in total. However, he previously had a successful loan spell with Cheltenham in 2020, making 45 appearances before moving on to Walsall.

In addition to Evans, Joe Day has also joined the team from Newport as a player-coach. Day worked closely with Cheltenham manager Michael Flynn during his time at Newport. Flynn expressed his confidence in Day’s abilities and called him a “fantastic lad with a good temperament.” He also highlighted Day’s impressive goalkeeping skills.

Day’s role at Cheltenham will be as a player-coach, which he is comfortable with. Flynn believes that Day’s experience and abilities will make him a valuable addition to the squad. With these new additions to the team, Cheltenham Town is ready to tackle the challenges that lie ahead in League Two.
