In 2024, six local business owners in West Monroe, Louisiana were honored with Small Business Awards by the West Monroe West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce. The awards ceremony recognized outstanding businesses in categories such as Emerging Entrepreneur, Small Business, Female Champion, Community Champion, and Silver Plus Award. Over 50 businesses were nominated in these categories.

The winners of the awards included Chris Lewis from Coney Island Connection West Monroe for Emerging Entrepreneur, Dr. Keri Cataldo-Rogers for Small Business, Sharon Pleasant for Female Champion, Karen Laban from Spice and Tea Exchange West Monroe for Community Champion, and Mulhearn Funeral Home and Flower Shop for the Silver Plus Award.

Kristopher Kelley, executive director of the WMWO Chamber, expressed his pride in the outstanding group of nominations and winners. He highlighted the community’s investment in building a brighter, diverse, and prosperous future and recognized the winners as role models for the community.
