Grand County Rural Health Network is currently accepting nominations for the Award for Excellence in Health Service until May 24. This award aims to recognize individuals or groups who are role models contributing to community health. Nominees can be professionals or volunteers who have made a positive impact on the health and well-being of the community.

The first-ever recipient of this award was Therese McElroy, a registered nurse, who was honored in 2013 for her 50 years of service, most of which were in Grand County. McElroy is recognized for her contributions to health care in the community, working in various settings such as the hospital, as a school nurse, and in home health. She exemplifies excellence in health service and has influenced the way health care is provided in Grand County.

Nominations for the Award for Excellence are voted on and selected by the Health Network’s Board of Directors. The recipients will be honored at the kickoff event for the Health Network’s annual fundraiser Gratitude for Grand in September. Nomination forms are available online at GCRuralHealth.org/HighFive or by calling 970-725-3477.

Over the years, many other individuals have been recognized with this prestigious award for their contributions to community health. Some past recipients include Ann Baer, Tracy Vasquez, Leigha Kline, Tess Riley, Brene Belew-LaDue and many others who have been recognized for their dedication to excellence in health service.

The Grand County Rural Health Network is committed to recognizing those who make a significant impact on the lives of people within our community. By submitting nominations through this program, we hope to continue highlighting those individuals or groups that deserve recognition and inspire others to follow suit.
