Invicta Fighting Championship, a groundbreaking MMA organization that features only female athletes, has secured a new deal with CBS Sports to air five of its events this year. This marks a significant milestone for the league, as previously its fights were only accessible online through AXS TV since 2021.

The first event to be broadcast on CBS Sports Network will be Invicta FC 55 on June 28. The terms of the agreement between Invicta and CBS Sports were not disclosed. However, it’s clear that this partnership represents a major step forward for both organizations.

Invicta FC was founded in 2012 and is owned by Anthem Sports & Entertainment. Over the years, it has been instrumental in launching the careers of many female fighters who have gone on to achieve fame in the UFC, including Amanda Nunes and Rose Namajunas. Previously, UFC aired Invicta events on its UFC Fight Pass OTT network from 2014-2020.

However, Paramount Global, the parent company of CBS Sports, scaled back its presence in the fight space after shutting down Showtime Sports at the end of 2023, which included its renowned boxing coverage. This new partnership with Invicta represents a re-entry into the combat sports world for CBS Sports. It’s an exciting development that will undoubtedly bring more attention to women’s MMA and provide opportunities for up-and-coming athletes to showcase their skills on a bigger stage.
