Michael J. Goar has been appointed as the new president and CEO of the Sisters of Charity Health System, a Cleveland-based Catholic nonprofit. With over 25 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit and education sectors, Goar most recently led Catholic Charities of St. Paul-Minneapolis, where he worked with the board to develop a strategic plan, generate new revenue streams, and establish a $50 million reserve fund.

Goar’s previous experience includes serving as CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters in the Twin Cities, overseeing a $10 million capital campaign and doubling the number of children served from 2,000 to 4,500. He has also held leadership positions in organizations such as Minneapolis Public Schools, Boston Public Schools, and Memphis City Schools.
