The Carolina Panthers made significant investments in their offensive line by signing guards Robert Hunt and Damien Lewis to large contracts. In 2023, Hunt had impressive numbers, allowing just five pressures and had the lowest pressure rate in the league. Despite missing some games due to injury, he still performed well and earned a five-year, $100 million contract with the Panthers.

Hunt will be tasked with protecting quarterback Bryce Young over the course of his contract. He is ranked as the 10th best guard entering the 2024 season by Pro Football Focus. Lewis, who was the 29th ranked guard on the list, also signed a lucrative deal with the Panthers. He had a solid pass-blocking grade over the past two seasons and will need to continue performing well to protect Young.

Both Hunt and Lewis add valuable experience and talent to the Panthers’ offensive line, which will be crucial in helping the team succeed in the upcoming seasons. They will be key pieces in keeping Young safe and giving him the time he needs to make plays on the field. With their impressive play on field and large contracts, they are expected to perform at a high level for years to come.
