On April 25, a marathon fundraiser was held at Keith Hills Golf Course by Campbell University Professional Golf Management (PGM) students to raise money for new technology in their on-campus learning center. The event, which lasted for 12 hours, saw students and program Director Gabriella Story raise over $15,000.

The students had raised money prior to the event and collected pledges based on the number of holes they could play, along with the number of birdies, eagles, and hole-in-ones they could achieve. Some groups even completed 130 holes during the day. While no aces were made, there were plenty of birdies and eagles throughout the day.

Connor Woods, a junior and vice president of the PGM Student Association, was the primary coordinator of the event. Woods shared that he participated in the event during his freshman year to raise money to renovate the Shouse Dining Hall into the PGM Golf Learning Center. The purpose of this fundraiser was not only to enhance the learning experience for current students in the Campbell PGM Program but also to improve it for future students. The funds raised by the students will have a lasting impact on the program.

Senior Sydney Higgins was able to raise the most funds, totaling over $3,000. Higgins emphasized the importance of enhancing the program for current and future Camels and expressed gratitude to those who supported her fundraising efforts. Through this process, she learned that reaching out for support is valuable and was pleasantly surprised by how willing others were to help her reach her goal.
