Recently, Solidia Technologies has inked a technology licensing agreement with CalPortland in the United States. Under this agreement, CalPortland has been granted limited rights to use Solidia’s patents that have the potential to reduce the carbon footprint of cement and concrete by up to 50%. With this license, CalPortland can now develop low carbon solutions using Solidia’s technology. In addition to the technology licensing, CalPortland has also acquired certain laboratory and plant assets from Solidia.

The CEO of Solidia Technologies, Russell Hill, expressed his excitement about this partnership with CalPortland. He highlighted CalPortland’s strong commitment to decarbonization in the cement and concrete industries which aligns well with the goals of Solidia. Hill emphasized that CalPortland’s dedication to sustainability makes them an ideal partner for furthering the research and development efforts that Solidia has been working on for over a decade. This collaboration is viewed as a significant step forward in advancing environmentally friendly solutions in the construction industry.
