The Cybertruck Next-Gen Patrol vehicle, developed by California-based UP.FIT, is potentially on its way to local police departments. Some police departments are already utilizing Tesla Model Ys, but the Cybertruck could be the next big thing in law enforcement vehicles.

UP.FIT specializes in outfitting Teslas for broader fleet use, and earlier this year, the Anaheim Police Department added six Tesla patrol vehicles to its fleet. The new Cybertruck is being promoted as the world’s first patrol vehicle that can be customized for tactical, military, or search and rescue missions.

The interior of the Cybertruck can be adapted to accommodate crime-fighting equipment such as weapons and specialty tools storage, prisoner partitions, and K-9 enclosures. Optional upgrades are available for extreme off-road use, making it a versatile option for various law enforcement needs.

The Anaheim City Council approved a $320,000 pilot program for the Cybertruck six weeks ago, with two units ready for deployment and four more to follow once they are prepared. UP.FIT has already garnered interest from other departments and agencies for its Cybertruck patrol vehicle, with shipments potentially starting in late 2024.
