The Buffalo Bills have undergone significant changes to their roster around the playmaker positions on offense and defense during this offseason. The defensive line has also been a focus for the Bills. In the 2024 NFL draft, DeWayne Carter (third round) and Javon Solomon (fifth round) were drafted by Buffalo. Additionally, the team made moves in free agency by adding players like Casey Toohill and Dawuane Smoot.

Due to the influx of new players, the coaching staff decided to maximize the players’ practice time by having them workout on the third and final day of minicamp, despite giving them the day off in the past. Head coach Sean McDermott acknowledged the effort of the players and emphasized the importance of getting as many reps as possible to prepare for the upcoming season.

McDermott also mentioned that the upcoming training camp will be challenging due to the high number of new players on the team. Veteran player DaQuan Jones, who has been with the Bills for two seasons, highlighted that turnover on his team is always a concern but that he believes that they are working hard off-field to build strong relationships with each other. He also shared that they had a group dinner together before minicamp which he saw as a positive step towards building cohesion within their team unit.
