Buffalo Academy of Science Charter School is set to become the new tenant of the former Medaille University campus in Buffalo, NY. The 14-acre campus was sold to Charter Schools Development Corporation (CSDC) and will be leased by BuffSci from CSDC. Dr. Joseph Polat, Executive Director of Buffalo Academy of Science Charter Schools, expressed excitement about the unique setting of the former university campus as an inspiring environment for future generations.
The closure of Medaille University in August 2023 paved the way for BuffSci to establish its presence on the former Medaille campus, providing a new educational opportunity for students in the community. Mark Zeizel, Senior Vice President at CSDC, expressed support for the vision of Buffalo Academy of Science Charter Schools and the positive impact that establishing a new school on this campus will have on the community.
BuffSci’s interest in the Medaille campus was evident in previous discussions with Dr. Polat. The move to this new campus represents a great opportunity for BuffSci to enhance its academic offerings and create a supportive environment for students to excel. The transition to the former Medaille University campus marks a new chapter for Buffalo Academy of Science Charter School, as it continues its mission of preparing students for college and successful careers.
