Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles confirmed that edge rusher Randy Gregory was absent from the team’s mandatory minicamp without authorization. The absence of Gregory, who joined the team as a free agent in April after playing for the Broncos and 49ers last season, could lead to significant fines. Notably, Gregory is currently involved in a lawsuit against the NFL and the Broncos over fines related to his use of marijuana.

On the other hand, left tackle Tristan Wirfs showed up for the minicamp and was present for the entire session. Wirfs arrived at the facility for the start of minicamp and was able to participate in all workouts. As per Bowles, Wirfs’ presence at minicamp was excused and he is expected to be a valuable asset to the team this season.

The Buccaneers will take necessary steps to address Gregory’s absence and ensure that he attends all future mandatory workouts. With Gregory missing the session, he could be facing significant fines, which could impact his performance on the field and his legal action against the NFL and Broncos. However, with Wirfs’ impressive performance at minicamp, it looks like he will play an important role in helping Tampa Bay win another Super Bowl title next year.
