The Buccaneers are set to sign former Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard, but before making the announcement official, they added another wideout to their roster. Cody Thompson has joined the team’s 90-man roster after a brief stint with the Seahawks last season. Despite limited playing time, Thompson managed to make an impact with one catch for 10 yards and two tackles on special teams.

Thompson was unfortunately placed on injured reserve for the entirety of the 2022 season, but now he has a chance to showcase his skills with the Buccaneers. With the addition of Thompson, the Bucs now have 12 receivers on their roster. If Shepard’s signing goes through as expected, he will bring the total number of wideouts to 13, possibly resulting in a corresponding move to make room for the new talent.
