Buc-ee’s is set to reclaim the title of the world’s largest gas station with the opening of a new location in Luling, Texas. The 75,000-square-foot travel center, situated on I-10 between San Antonio and Houston, will feature 120 fuel pumps and employ 200 people. This marks a return to the state where it all began for the chain.

The Luling location holds special significance as it was Buc-ee’s first supersized travel center, originally opening in 2003. It was also the site of the world’s largest gas station title until 2023 when it was taken by a store in Sevierville, Tennessee. However, this new location takes that title back and brings it full circle.

“We are thrilled to open the doors to the world’s largest Buc-ee’s travel center right here in the great state of Texas,” said Buc-ee’s executive Stan Beard. “It’s particularly exciting considering this is the Buc-ee’s that started it all.”

Fans of Buc-ee’s can expect their favorite food items such as Texas barbecue, homemade fudge, kolaches, Beaver Nuggets, jerky, and fresh pastries starting at 6 a.m. on grand opening day. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for noon on opening day.
