Brussels Airlines has appointed Dieter Vranckx as its new chairman of the board of directors. Vranckx, who previously served as the CEO of the airline, will now take on a different role as chairman of SN Airholding, the holding company of Brussels Airlines that is wholly owned by Lufthansa Group. He succeeds Christina Foerster, another former CEO of the airline who is leaving Lufthansa.

Vranckx has a long career within the Lufthansa Group and has been active at Brussels Airlines from 2018 to 2021, first as financial director and then as CEO. After his time at Brussels Airlines, he became the CEO of Swiss, another company within the Lufthansa Group. He has now transitioned to the role of commercial director of the Lufthansa Group.

The airline also announced other changes and initiatives within the company but did not provide specific details in their announcement.
