The City of Broken Arrow is taking important steps towards improving the well-being of its residents by launching a new collaboration aimed at enhancing mental health emergency responses. Beginning on July 1, the Broken Arrow Police and Fire Departments will be teaming up with Family & Children’s Services and Grand Mental Health to form a more effective and efficient first responders team.

Family & Children’s Services will be working closely with the Broken Arrow Fire Department, while Grand Mental Health care coordinators will be collaborating with the Broken Arrow Police Department. This partnership will allow for more targeted and timely responses to mental health crises in the area, ultimately leading to better outcomes for those in need.

In addition to this exciting development, the City of Broken Arrow has also secured funding from the Oklahoma Opioid Abatement Board. This funding will support the integration of mental health services into the first responders teams, further enhancing their ability to provide critical support to those in need. By prioritizing mental health in emergency response efforts, Broken Arrow is taking an important step towards improving the well-being of its residents.
