Emma Raducanu of Britain continued her Wimbledon preparations by easily defeating Daria Snigur of Ukraine in the quarter-finals of the Nottingham Open. Despite a rocky start where Snigur broke her serve in the first game, Raducanu quickly gained momentum and won the first set by reeling off six games in a row. In the second set, she secured two breaks of serve to advance to the last eight.
Raducanu played a strong game against the world number 127, winning 6-2 6-2. Her serve was particularly impressive in the match, with 11 aces thanks to a new serving action she has been working on with her childhood coach, Nick Cavaday. Her powerful groundstrokes, especially her forehand, also troubled Snigur throughout the match.
Despite some frustration with line calls from the umpire, Raducanu kept her focus and secured her second consecutive win in the tournament. She has been building up to Wimbledon, which begins on 1st July, and this victory will provide her with confidence going forward.
Raducanu chose to skip the French Open to work on her fitness and it paid off as she is now ready for one of her biggest tournaments yet. She will face either Fran Jones of Britain or Ashlyn Krueger of the United States in
