British boxer Ramla Ali faced off against Yamileth Mercado in Arizona for the WBC World Super Bantamweight title. Despite her best efforts, Ali lost to Mercado in a unanimous points decision. Mercado, who has held the belt since 2019, controlled the fight from start to finish and managed to stifle Ali’s counter-punching in the later rounds. Although disappointed with the outcome, Ali took to Instagram to express her gratitude and support for Mercado, showing good sportsmanship.

In another bout, British boxer Sunny Edwards made a successful return to the ring, defeating Mexican flyweight Adrian Curiel in a unanimous points decision. However, the fight was stopped prematurely in the ninth round by the ringside doctor due to a cut on Edwards’ right eye caused by an accidental clash of heads. Despite the early end to the fight, Edwards was confident in his abilities and hoped to finish the fight on his terms.

Jesse Rodriguez of the United States also had a successful night, securing a knockout win against Juan Estrada to become the new WBC and Ring Magazine super flyweight world champion. After surviving a knockdown in the fifth round, Rodriguez delivered a devastating body punch in the seventh round that sealed his victory for him. Despite facing challenges in the ring, Rodriguez remained focused on his goal and celebrated his achievement with joy and excitement.
